London, May 20, 2024 — The UK’s first Sauna Summit, held in London, crowned Haar Sauna as the UK's Best Nature Sauna. This accolade recognises excellence in creating an authentic and community sauna experience, and Haar Sauna stood out among the fierce competition.
Nestled in between the sand dunes of St Ninian’s Beach, Bigton, Shetland. Haar Sauna hosts guests with its seamless blend of natural beauty and outdoor sauna experience. The Summit's judge Emma O’Kelly (writer of Sauna: The power of deep heat) was particularly impressed by the sauna’s eco-friendly design, which uses locally sourced wood and the ability to be so connected to nature.
“We are thrilled and honoured to receive this national award and bring it back home to Shetland,” said Hannah Mary Goodlad, co-founder of Haar Sauna. “Our mission has always been to offer a sanctuary where people can reconnect with nature and themselves, and this recognition is a testament to our small team’s (Ana Arnett, Claire Adlington, Andrea Sanchez, Fionn Arnett, Callum Scott) hard work and dedication.”
The Sauna Summit, was the UK’s first sauna conference and was attended by leading experts and enthusiasts from around the globe, including: Ragna Marie Fjeld (Oslo Badstuforening), she highlighted the growing trends in sauna wellness experiences. She even commented on how “Haar Sauna were the pioneers of the Scottish Sauna scene, and the natural surroundings of St Ninian’s Beach, exemplifies this movement.”
This award is expected to boost Haar Sauna’s brand, attracting even more visitors seeking a unique experience escape, without leaving Shetland. On the 8th June 2024, Haar Sauna will be taking part in International Sauna Day, hoping to improve both physical and mental health of our local community and offering a deep, relaxing sauna experience that brings together both families and friends.
