Our Story
Haar Sauna began with a simple belief: that time spent in nature, shared with others, can change how we feel.
We are Scotland’s original outdoor sauna company, shaped by a love of wild places, community, and the restorative power of deep heat. At Haar, sauna isn’t just something you do - it’s a mindset that sits at the heart of everything we create.
Based at 60° north in the Shetland Islands, our saunas are rooted in the landscape around them - by the sea, under open skies, in all seasons. It’s the UK’s closest experience to a traditional Nordic sauna, not just in temperature, but in spirit.
Created as a place to gather, Haar offers space to slow down, reconnect with the elements, and share moments of warmth - a modern meeting place through the long northern winters.

Founders
Callum and Hannah Mary are the passionate team behind Haar Sauna.
Having lived and worked in Norway for many years, it was the couple's dream to bring the best bits of Nordic culture back home to Scotland. At the top of this list was sauna, second was the relationship with nature. So they combined them. The result was Haar Sauna.
As Shetlanders, the importance of creating community spaces that are inclusive and wild is deeply rooted in Callum and Hannah Mary's values. Guided by this, the couple's vision was to create a new experience that reconnects people - with themselves, with one another, and with nature.
From the top of the UK, Haar Sauna has created a movement that has swept south across the country to revive Scotland's forgotten relationship with heat.
